Much More

As a child, she stood hungry. Helpless with nothing. No family to hug her. No mother to love her. Theres' many times she stared in the face of abuse. Where was her father? It was as if he disappeared off the face of the earth. The only thing she had to hold on to was the well worn pillow that held many tears and her high hopes for something more. Yes, on the outside there was no emotion- she acted still and inhumane. Her affiliation with the streets became deep. She had to provide. She and her siblings had to survive. Refusing to go another day with her tummy reaching the peak of her ribs- she hugged every block. She,  as they say, held everything down. She targeted many, and accomplished plenty. They saw her as wreckless. The elderly claimed she was satan. Education to her wasn't relevant. School was a non-factor to her. Everyday was a curse- maybe more, but nothing less. She was hurt. Never did she realize she had someone there for her the entire time. ME. If no one else will, I will be there for her within every road she chooses to follow. I love her. I love me. I am Tyanna Couser.

Individuality

Every mark
Every bruise
Separates me from them
My talk
My walk
Separates me from them
The things I think
Things I say
Makes me who I am
Things that make me cry
Maybe things that make you smile
I am who I am
I feel I know whats best for me
Society thinks differently
The pain I feel
The love I speak
Other teens seem to judge me
But I am who I am
I feel deeply
You have no remorse
But I am who I am
You may live for money
I have a purpose and live for love
We are different
So you judge
I need no man
To take care of me
And no human
Can put fear in me
Influence
I live above it
Popularity
I think nothing of it
I see beauty
In Others
I see beauty beyond barriers
We are instilled
With brotherly love
And still
We are negativities carriers

Teen Drop Out ; Question And Answers

Would high school be considered as overrated? In the U.S.' fifty states it is said that almost half of all public school students fail to graduate. While some consider the age to drop out be lowered, many more of us prefer it to be raised. What kind of country would we be running if there is no education? The percentage of ignorance in not only teens, but adults, would be drastically raised. You can't deny that with more teens dropping out there is sure to be more drugs, murder, and unremorseful violence. High school drop outs are more likely to be living in poverty, unemployed, incarcerated, and/or recieveing public assistance. This is an issue that we seize to act on. We need to do more!
